300 Calorie Breakfast Oatmeal

I've been having this 300 calorie breakfast oatmeal since the past 10 years now - it's easy and convenient to make and has a lot of nutritional benefits. However, I stick to my recipe to ensure it's light on the calories and I can still lose weight while eating it.

I also include this in my diet plans and all my clients have lost 2-3kg every month while eating this daily.


When I moved to the US, I wanted to find an easy microwave friendly recipe that I could also eat while commuting. So I started off trying the flavoured Quaker Oats mini packs and absolutely loved it! Once I gained the famous Freshman 15, I realized I needed to cut down on the artificial sweetness in the oatmeal and find other ways to sweeten it up. I kept alternating the fruits based on whatever was available, and finally stumbled upon this recipe.



300 Calorie Oatmeal


Ingredients

  • ½ cup oats

  • ½ cup soy milk

  • 1 small elchi banana

  • Honey (Optional)


Directions

  1. Add the oats to a pan and cook it for about 5 mins

  2. Add the soy milk to the pan and cook it till it reaches a desired texture

  3. Based on the consistency, add more milk if required

  4. Once the consistency has been achieved, serve it in a bowl

  5. Add few slices of the elchi banana

  6. Top it up with honey (if required)


Serve hot and enjoy!
